I thought I'd go one better and convert your full size header image into HTML code.
You can download it here if you want a look, it's zipped due to file size reasons.
p.s. I cheated, wrote up a quick PHP script to do this, don't have the patience to do it manually ;)

I'm more interested on the php code you mentioned :o
If you delete some of the lines of the code, parts of the picture dissapears so in my opinion it is real.
